DEATH TO TYRANTS – 1776 1776 was a line in the sand. The American Revolution was fueled by the conviction that no king, looking at you, King George III, had the divine permission to tax, command, and control a people an ocean away without their consent. When colonists talked about liberty, they meant it in the rawest sense: self-governance. Pamphlets, protests, and eventually muskets carried their message to the throne. The United States was a rejection of imposed authority and a declaration against tyranny in every form.
